Help in old age

Help in old age

Who will help me when I am old and no longer able to live independently?

The organisation Spitalexterne Hilfe und Pflege (Spitex) (Nursing and Care at Home) also organises a meals-on-wheels service. A hot lunch is delivered to elderly, ill and disabled people at home every day. Contact Spitex Grisons for details of the Spitex organisations active in your community, the services they provide and how to contact them.

Pro Senectute Graubünden advice centre

The charity Pro Senectute provides lots of services for older people, enabling them to stay at home for longer. Pro Senectute aims to promote and maintain the independence and quality of life of people over 60. Elderly people and their families can obtain free, confidential advice about:

  • financial problems
  • legal matters
  • dealing with personal crises
  • recreational activities
  • and matters concerning accommodation and relationships.

If this help is not enough and you need round-the-clock help then a day centre or retirement home may suit your needs better.

The retirement or care home you will live in is determined by your current address. Pro Senectute or your GP can help you to find out.
